Brisk walking or jogging – Which is better for weight loss?
There have been many arguments over which is better for weight loss – brisk walking or jogging. Health wise brisk walking or jogging are the same. If you do any of them regularly they have the same benefits on health and weight loss. It is true that jogging helps burn calories quicker and hence weight loss is faster. But medical experts agree that quick weight loss means quick weight gain too. The weight lost by brisk walking is more permanent. Brisk walking may be more effective than vigorous jogging for patients with pre-diabetes, as suggested by a research. Jogging is not prescribed for people with injuries or even for overweight people as they will invariably have knee issues. The impact of jogging on the knees is twice that of brisk walk and that can be damaging to overweight people. For completely healthy people with moderate weight, jogging is a better option for losing weight but for people with health problems brisk walking is better. Whatever you do for weight loss, do it regularly and enjoy it. That is the mantra for success.
